Skye Nicolson Shuts Out Mariah Turner by Unanimous Decision, Retains WBC Interim Title | FIGHT HIGHLIGHTS
On fight night at the Melbourne Pavilion in Melbourne, Skye Nicolson (15-1, 3 KOs) headlined in her home country, facing Mariah Turner (12-1, 6 KOs) in a scheduled 10-round clash at super bantamweight.
With her WBC interim title on the line, Nicolson looked to defend her position in front of a hometown crowd and take another step toward a future shot at the undisputed championship.
SKYE NICOLSON SETS THE TONE EARLY
Nicolson established control from the opening bell, probing with her jab in Round 1 and closing with a sharp check right.
In Round 2, she began mixing in counters, landing a straight left and left uppercut while staying active behind her jab. By Round 3, Nicolson was putting combinations together, snapping Turner’s head back with a 1–2 as blood began to show from Turner’s nose.
MOMENTUM SHIFTS IN THE MIDDLE ROUNDS
Turner had moments in Round 4, landing a pair of right hands, but Nicolson responded immediately with clean counters.
By Round 5, Turner’s nose continued to bleed as Nicolson repeatedly found the target with her straight left. The defining moment came in Round 6, when Nicolson staggered Turner late in the round, buckling her knees with a clean shot.

In Round 7, Nicolson used her footwork and head movement to stay just out of range, slipping incoming shots before stepping in with a clean lead straight left that connected flush on Turner’s already bloodied face.

NICOLSON CONTROLS DOWN THE STRETCH
As the fight entered the later rounds, Nicolson remained composed and in control.
In Round 9, she continued landing check right hands as Turner pressed forward, struggling to close the distance cleanly. In the final round, Nicolson used her footwork and jab to evade attacks, while Turner was deducted a point for use of the head inside the clinch.
