Alycia Baumgardner Dominates Bo Mi Re Shin to Retain Titles | FIGHT HIGHLIGHTS

Inside the Madison Square Garden Theater, Alycia “The Bomb” Baumgardner (18-1, 7 KOs) delivered a composed performance, defeating Bo Mi Re Shin (19-4-3, 10 KOs) by unanimous decision to retain her unified super featherweight titles.

RING WALK MOMENT

The energy was set early. Baumgardner made her ring walk alongside Lil' Kim to The Jump Off, a New York anthem that matched the moment. Baumgardner danced her way to the ring as she usually does during her walkouts, bringing confidence, rhythm, and a energy before the fight even began.

EARLY FIGHT HIGHLIGHTS

Baumgardner came out sharp. In Round 1, she landed a clean double left hook that immediately got Shin’s attention. By Round 2, she followed it up with a quick four-punch combination, as she began to take control.

ROUND 4 DRAMA

But Shin didn’t back down. Early in Round 4, she ate a right uppercut–left hook combo that visibly buckled her legs, putting her in trouble, but she showed grit, surviving the round as the crowd came alive sensing a possible stoppage.

SHIN FIRES BACK

Shin’s best stretch came in Round 6, where she applied steady pressure and connected with heavy punches, forcing Baumgardner to reset and adjust.

From there, the champion recalibrated.

CHAMPIONSHIP ADJUSTMENTS

Baumgardner began picking her shots again, regaining control with cleaner, sharper work. In Round 9, she delivered one of the fight’s standout moments, cracking Shin with a clean left hook that punctuated her dominance down the stretch.

With both fighters sharing Korean heritage, pride was on full display, but it was Baumgardner’s composure, accuracy, and adaptability that separated her.

After ten rounds, the judges scored it wide for Baumgardner, 98-92, 98-92, and 99-91, proving once again she can handle pressure, make adjustments, and still come out on top.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR ALYCIA BAUMGARDNER?

Alycia Baumgardner didn’t just celebrate the win. She made sure everyone understood what she pushed through to get it. “Listen, three minutes, three minutes, 10 rounds on my period, baby, stop playing with me,” Baumgardner said.

Fighting under three-minute rounds is already a major test, but Baumgardner embraced it as part of her growth.

“I’m feeling comfortable. It’s an adjustment every time,” she said. “Three minutes is a long time. I think it suits my style. I’m still growing, I’m still learning. I don’t know everything and I’m okay with that. You just go back and you keep getting better.”

Looking ahead, Baumgardner made it clear she wants the biggest names available.

“Katie Taylor, Amanda Serrano, what’s up?” she said.

That momentum has already carried into a war of words with Caroline Dubois (13-0-1, 5 KOs), the undefeated British southpaw and rising lightweight champion. The two now share notable common opponents, including Bo Mi Re Shin, whom both have beaten, as well as Terri Harper, whom Dubois defeated just weeks earlier on April 5.

When asked about a potential fight with Caroline Dubois, Baumgardner didn’t hold back.

“Like I said, I’m a piranha, that’s a guppy. Get her out of here.” - 🥊
